GRENADA OPPOSITION MPS EXCLUDED FROM OECS MEETING OPENI...
Grenada's opposition National Democratic Congress has written to the OECS Secretary General Len Ishmael expressing concern over what they say was an attempt by the government to exclude them from the 45th OECS Authority Meeting. At a press conference held by the NDC last week Member of Parliament Peter David said opposition MPs were left out of the opening ceremony. According to David, only Opposition Leader Tillman Thomas was invited. Caribbean Net News understands that it is protocol that opposition MPs be invited to such functions. David said a letter was also issued to the Prime Minister seeking answers as to why they were not part of the opening ceremony. The opposition MP said the government’s move is a clear indication of their attempt to politicize the OECS meeting. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com
