Miss World Limited has announced that the 57th Miss World Pageant will be held on December 1, 2007 in Sanya, Hainan Island in the People’s Republic of China. All contestants are expected to arrive in Sanya by November 2 for a month long festival in celebration of women’s beauty, talent, fashion and culture. Grenada will be represented at this major international event by Vivian Burkhardt, winner of the Miss Grenada World contest. Vivian will be expected to leave Grenada for China at the end of October, accompanied by former Miss World and Franchise holder, Mrs. Jennifer Hosten and another chaperone. Since winning Miss Grenada World, Vivian has taken part in a number of activities. These include inspirational talks at schools, a walk for disabled persons during the month of May and other charity related events for young people. She has also undertaken some photographic modeling sessions. At the same time she continues her training for the Miss World contest aided by an able group of persons on a daily basis. This year’s Miss World contest allows contestants to fast-track into the finals by participation in categories such as “top model”. Vivian will be leaving for Ottawa, Canada in the next few weeks to undertake a short modeling course at one of the leading modeling academies. “I am really looking forward to the next few weeks and months. My training in general has been very useful and I look forward to learning the latest trends in fashion and modeling while in Canada,” said Vivian.
