GRENADA: From today (June 8, 2007), Grenadians will have to dig deeper into their pockets in order to pay for gasoline, diesel and kerosene. According to government sources, the adjustment in the gas prices is as a result of an increase in the price of oil on the world market.
In Grenada, the cost of one gallon of gasoline at the pump has moved from EC$10.95 to $13.09 (an increase of $2.14). One gallon of diesel now costs $11.29, an increase of $0.81, while kerosene has moved from $7.86 per gallon to $8.83 – an increase of $0.97.
On the sister island of Carriacou, Gasoline is now $13.25 per gallon, diesel is $11.45 per gallon and kerosene $9.00 per gallon.
The cost of LPG, however, has fallen. A 100 lb cylinder of cooking gas now costs $177.62, decreasing by $1.25 and the 20lb is now $36.02, down from its pervious price of $36.27.
