CATEGORY:SPORTS(ATHLETICS) ----------------------------- INSIDE GRENADA SATURDAY June 9,2007 by Wallace J.A TRISH BARTHOLOMEW, a former student and athlete of the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS), has placed 7th in the 400m finals at the NCAA outdoor Track and Field Championships today. Trish ran a personal best of 52.17 which earned her All-American. Yesterday, Trish ran the 400m semi-final in 52.78, earning her a 3rd place finish and an automatic spot in today’s finals. The field had started with 29 runners and only eight made it through to the finals. Trish’s coach, Sandy Fowler, is quoted as saying that “...Trish making it to the finals is big accomplishment. She did that many times as a junior college athlete and to bring that to the NCAA championships is quite amazing…Any time you earn NCAA All-American it is a great accomplishment.” Trish is currently attending the University of Alabama and is a key member of the university’s women track team. Her time in today’s 400 meter race also moves her into fourth place on the schools all-time list and puts her at seventh place on the national list.
