CATEGORY:CRIMINAL MATTERS ------------------------------- INSIDE GRENADA SUNDAY July 01,2007 by Wallace J.A On June 25 (last week Monday), the people of St. Lucia and Grenada, especially from the LaDigue area in St. Andrew’s, were completely shocked at receiving news about the sadistic and horrendous murder of Marcia Philbert-Jules. Marcia, who grew up in the rural parish of St. Andrew’s in Grenada, migrated to St. Lucia where she resided at the time of her death. She was a senior civil servant in ST. Lucia – former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and more recently, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Physical Planning. Philbert-Jules was found lying in a pool of blood at her home in Grande Riviere, Gros-Islet with multiple stab wounds to her body. It is believed that the killer(s) would have used a ladder to gain entry through a window that had no iron bars because of its great distance from the ground. The policemen in St Lucia are continuing their investigations into the violent murder of Philbert-Jules and have so far arrested five youngsters, all under the age of 20, and have charged a 15 year old youth in connection with her murder.
