GERBER RECALLS BABY FOOD SOLD IN THE CARIBBEAN, PUERTO...
A choking hazard has prompted a Gerber baby food recall in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The company is recalling all packages of it's organic whole grain rice and organic whole grain oatmeal cereals. The Gerber Products Co. says a limited amount of the cereals could contain lumps that will not dissolve in water or milk. Gerber says the food should not be eaten. If you bought the food, you can call Gerber and get a full refund. The number is 800-443-7237. The company says they have received some complaints of choking but no reports of injury. The cereals were distributed nationwide and to Puerto Rico and the Carribean. All codes of the two cereals, sold in 8 ounce boxes are being recalled. That comes to about 500,000 packages. The Food and Drug Administration says it agrees with Gerber's decision to issue the voluntary recall.
