GRENADA POLICE WARN OF COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY
The Grenada police yesterday warned that counterfeit United States and Eastern Caribbean currency were in circulation on the island and urged persons to be careful while conductingbusiness transactions. "Persons are advised to be extremely careful when accepting or conducting business with denomination in US and EC currencies," a police statement said noting that the bogus bills were mainly in the 100, 50 and 20 dollar denominations. The police said they have noticed that over the past years, counterfeit notes were usually circulated during festive occasions such as carnival and Christmas. Grenada is now preparing for the annual carnival celebrations. Reprinted from jamaica-gleaner.com
