CATEGORY:ECONOMY/MONEY -------------------------- INSIDE GRENADA WEDNESDAY July 18,2007 by Wallace J.A GRENADA: The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) is advising the Grenadian public to be on the look-out for counterfeit currency which might be in circulation in the country. People should be very careful when accepting US and EC currencies in $100, $50 and $20 denominations. It is believed that people are currently circulating EC$20 bills with the serial number 0961646. Most of the time, people in possession of counterfeit currency will try to circulate the bill(s) in crowded, busy shopping places or party areas where the lighting is poor. Grenadians are urged to be on the alert at all times and not allow themselves to ‘conned’ into accepting these worthless bills. The RGPF has warned the population that anyone found with counterfeit bills in his/her possession, or is distributing or trying to distribute same, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
