GFA NEWS - PREMIER LEAGUE HEATS UP THIS WEKEND

Paradise who now tops the standings will look to maintain their unbeaten run on Sunday when they travel away to meet Fontenoy United at Queens Park. Paradise have four wins playing at home, two wins and a draw playing away from home summing up their unbeaten record. Their real strength lies in their midfield players and their attacking players with the likes of National Midfielder Shane Rennie, Curt Rennie seems unstoppable as he scores al most everytime he hits the pitch. He has a total of five goals from six matches. Fontenoy United is going into the game as the under-dogs. Their last encounter was a defeat at the hands of Dano Eagles Super Strikers 2-0 over at Fond. They have only manage one victory in as many as six matches. Their leading goalscorer is former National Midfielder Kennedy Phillip who has only two goals. Fontenoy United is sitting at 6 th place in the standing with six points from six matches. GBSS will fancy their chances at home to Dano Eagles Super Strikers when they meet from 2:00 pm on Sunday at Tanteen. It is the first game of a doubleheader at Tanteen. GBSS is yet to lose a match at home. Infact they have only lost one match away to defending Champions Carib Hurricane. With the likes of National players Nigel Bishop, Brian Benjamin Ken Searles, Marc Marshall and Andre Charles, this team can play some very attractive football. On the other hand Dano Eagles will be banking on the services of well-informed National Striker Marcus Julien. Marcus is the leading Premier League goalscorer with eight goals from seven matches. ESS is four point adrift from GBSS who is on 10 points. Following the GBSS v ESS encounter, newly promoted South Stars will battle with Hard Rock from 4:00 pm. South Stars is now leveled with GBSS on 10 points. They are going into this match on a high after their latest victory 2-1 over Queens Park Rangers last Sunday. Hard Rock is strengthened by the likes of National players Ashton Henry and Keron Panchoo who are studying abroad. Tyron John is the leading goalscorer for Hard Rock, seven goals only one behind current leader Marcus Julien (ESS). The other two matches scheduled for Sunday will take place at Chantimelle and Alston George Park. Newly promoted Alaska Chantimelle will be at home to Queens Park Rangers. Rangers are favorites to win as Chantimelle is yet to record a victory and is at the bottom of the Standings. The other match is between defending Champions Carib Hurricane and Police. Hurricane will anxiously await three points so as to keep pace with Paradise at the top of the table. They boast the likes of a number of national players: Nickel Paul, Dorset Langainge, Kyle Joseph. Ron Richardson and Robbie Morris. The lawmen will have to fight hard to earn points against them.
