GRENADIAN BEAUTY SHINES AT INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT
Grenada’s Crystal McLawrence was adjudged 1st runner up at the annual Miss Ecstasy International Pageant in Anguilla on Saturday July 28, 2007. McLawrence competed against 11 other ladies from the Caribbean who vied for the prestigious Miss International title at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Center. With this result, Grenadian beauties continue to be recognized as strong competitors at the pageant, having won on four occasions: 1999, 2004, 2005 and 2006. This year the coveted title went to Miss Anguilla, Amber Woodley, who edged out Grenada's entrant by 19 points to win the title. The 2nd runner up position went to Juana McClean of Barbados and 3rd runner up was Samantha Issac of Antigua. Special prizes were awarded as follows: Best Promotional Speech-Miss Grenada Best Swimsuit-Miss Barbados Best Future Shock-Miss Anguilla Best Talent-Miss Anguilla Best Evening Gown-Miss Grenada The show, which began about 8:30 p.m., ran until 3:00 a.m. with the only major delays coming at the end with the judges finding it difficult to select the winner.
