GRENADA TOPS STANDING IN WINDWARD ISLAND SECONDARY SCHO...  
CATEGORY:SPORTS(ATHLETICS) ----------------------------- INSIDE GRENADA TUESDAY July 31,2007 by Lester Smith GRENADA: It was another superb performance thus far from the Grenadian athletes that propelled them to the top of the Standings in the regional 2007 Windward Islands Secondary School Games currently hosted in Dominica. On Sunday, Grenada dominated the Track and Field category with some impressive statistics. Alisha Dumont from St. Joseph Convent St. George’s earn double gold medals in the 200 and 400 metres respectively likewise Neilon Joseph of Mc Donald College in the 800m and 1500 m. The strongest of the individual performances came from Kirt Felix and Coleen Felix. Kirt Felix a former student of GBSS and now at the TAMCC scored 23 points dominating the field. Coleen Felix of St. Joseph Convent St. Andrews performed equally outstanding amassing the same amount of points like Kirt. Then on Monday, Grenada started on the winning edged with a victory in Basketball 55 – 42 over St. Lucia. However, they succumb defeat in Volleyball and Netball. In the Volleyball, Grenada lost 25-7, 25-15 and 25- 11 against a strong St. Lucian lineup. Then in the netball, Grenada lost by 11 points, 36-27 to host nation Dominica. Today, the Spice Boys seeks victory in football as they take on St. Lucia from 2:00 pm. Then at 7:00 pm, the girls will compete in netball against St. Lucia.
