PRICE HIKES HIT GRENADIANS
Grenadians are paying more for bread, cooking gas and transportation in line with price hikes announced by the government. While some in the business community view the development as inevitable, the Grenadian labour movement says the hikes will bring greater hardship to the people. The price of flour is going up by seven to 10 percent, and that will mean a hike in what is being paid for bread and other bakery products. Also being implemented is a 25 percent increase in bus fares and cooking gas, which will have Grenadians digging a little deeper into their pockets. Government Minister Gregory Bowen holds several portfolios including Energy and Agriculture. He says inflation and other factors have forced the decision to implement the price increases. But the Chamber of Commerce is criticising what it calls an ad hoc and piecemeal approach on the part of the authorities. Reprinted from radioja

Every country have a leader, therefore whenever things are going wrong in the country the leader gets the blame. I love my country, but i am very disappointed in the direction its heading. We cannot blame the country, we have to blame someone for whats going on. So people who should we blame, the people of Grenada, the Government or Foreigners. As far as am concern someone has to take the fault. When the Americans don't like what's going on in the country who gets the blame. I do not like politics and i try not to get involved. I have seen alot of people pledge and yell of how much they would do for the country if you vote them in office, and when the get in office they sometime forget what they said before they were there. There is a God and he is looking at all of us. Grenadians wake up, we will have to answer for all the wrongdoings, and believe the consequences would not be easy.

It's a shame to see what Grenada has now come to. soon or later we will be no different to Haiti and other places where people will do anything to get by.

Once again here we go again blaming the Government for foolishness do u people stop to think about some of the comments that you are writing befor u post it. Anyway prices that are increasing in Grenada or any other country for that matter has nothing to do with the Government. You people are too lazy get up off your behind and find a job and stop blaming the Government for your short comings. Whenever foreign artistes come to Grenada you guys spend the money to buy tickets to go to the shows and any other things for that matter. But prices gone up and all of a sudden u blame the Government. N N P forever

Grenadian open your eyes, once again we all can see what kind of government leaders in power, we have a leader who is a fraud, one who is not about the people of this beautiful country of ours.I am very disappointed with this administrationwith what they have done to us over the years.when your people cannot buy a loaf of bread is a sad sad situation. As grenadian we have to stand up for our rights.Keith and his boys have to go. Grenada is for grenadians. Even if we have to go back to old school days.
