Seventeen soca artistes will be aiming at taking the Soca Monarch crown from the reigning king, Hollis “Mr. Killa” Mapp at Carnival City (inside of the National Stadium) later on this evening. The artistes will be appearing in the following order: 1. Kinky Kim (Joakim Gentle) 2. Pupa Lendi 3. Luni Sparks and Electrify (Kelon & Kelson Ogiste) 4. Dry Bones (Allison Sylvester) 5. Randy Isaac, (Randy Isaac) 6. Terror P (Hayden Francis) 7. Spontaneous (Neilon Ross) 8. Mr. Killa (Hollis Mapp) 9. Sheldon Douglas, 10. Nnika (Nnika Francis) 11. Elo (Elwin Mark) 12. Superstar (Jermaine Simon) 13. Boogie B (Dave Peters) 14. Original Sans (Willan Redhead) 15. Rhythm Mix (Keville Frederick) 16. Zingo (Evlyn Alexander) 17. Papa Jerry (Jerry Baptiste) 18. Inspector (Elimus Gilbert) 19. Copper(Earl Roache) – stand-by In addition to the crown, the soca monarch winner will be taking home EC$27,500.00, a sizeable sum by Grenadian standards. The second place winner will bet EC$22,500.00 and the third place winner, EC$17,000.00.
