Defending champions Jamaica dispatched constant rivals Grenada in a thrilling finale to the 2007 Caribbean Cup season on Sunday, September 2. It was a clash of the titans on a glorious New York afternoon before fully packed stands at the Jefferson High School field in Brooklyn. Sporting fans were not disappointed by the level of play in the keenly contested match. Unfortunately, the large Grenadian contingent on hand cheering on their side was not enough to help the Spice Boys overpower their seeingly more determined opponents. The Grenadian team had many opportunities to score but only managed to convert two attempts into goals, while the Jamaicans with fewer attempts at goal scored at almost every legitimate chance. This was reflected in final tally of 4-2 in the local Reggae Boyz favor. However, analysts give The Spice Boys A for effort for their determination, as at one point they were down 3-0. This is the third year in a row that Grenada has lost to Jamaica in the finals of the Caribbean Cup.
