The excitement started with getting drivers, crew and partiers to Antigua in good enough time for set up and blast off, using Liat! With mishaps, delays, and estimations that we could perhaps swim to Antigua faster, we finally got there and the excitement of the racers compensated for the flight frustrations. Congratulations to Team Grenada who came home with first place finishes again. Allan McIntyre, Joshua Lewis, Ian DaBreo and Angus DaBreo made up the team. Joshua Lewis in his Toyota Turbo Starlet Chicken Run winning his 12 sec bracket against the best from Antigua and Trinidad. Running a personal best time of 11.9 sec. Allan McIntyre in his Ford Mustang Sledge Hammer after correcting a few problems won his 10. Sec bracket against Antigua's consistent driver Pablo in his Turbo Honda Civic. Angus DaBreo in his Mitsubishi Gallant Demented competed in the 10 sec bracket broke one axle had it repair and then red lighted against the Turbo Honda from Antigua. Ian DaBreo in his Datsun 1200. Rotary power Shocwave experienced tuning problems lost to Spankie in his Rotary 2nd gen Mazda, but continuing with a personal best of 9.9 sec. Team Grenada worked together to overcome any problems that were presented to them over the weekend proudly returning to Grenada with 2 first place & one second place.
