St. George's defeated St. Andrew's on Sunday at the National Stadium in finals of the Senior Inter Parish Competition. St. Andrew's, the former "Power house" of cricket in Grenada, was dethroned by the new look of St. George's outfit, sporting a blend of youth and experience. Both teams had a number of national players on display. St. Andrew's had Trevor Walcott, Marvin Noel, Denis George, Ronald Ettienne and Heron Campbell in their lineup. While St. George's were able to field Windwards captain Rawle Lewis, Clyde Telesford, Garvin Roberts, Lyndon Lawrence the West Indies Youth player and several up-and-coming youth players. Scores in the Match St. Andrew's batting first scored 202 in 40 overs with Marvin Noel scoring 47, Bevon Campbell 33 and Trevor Walcott 25. Ciprian Forsyth bagged 3 for 30 and Rondell Baptiste 2 for 28 difficult chasing what looked like a total, St. George's cruised home with Clyde Telesford scoring a brilliant 67 not out, West Indies Youth player Lyndon Lawrence making a stroke filled 48.
