CATEGORY:RELIGION -------------------- INSIDE GRENADA SUNDAY September 23,2007 by Osborne Baptist Fellow Grenadian, visitors, brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false Christ and false prophets are gone out into the world.1Jh.4:1. For there shall arise false Christ, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Mt.24:24. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: This is one of the reasons why in these last days that we have to be sure of the spiritual qualification of those that we have entrusted with authority in the body of Christ. It must always come from above; and never from below. And that we also be filled with the spirit of God; and accept the operation of the gifts of the Holy Ghost. This authority from above will enable us to know what prophesies that are consistent with the word of God; and in short what we should accept; and what we should reject. Brothers and sisters, in short we must have wisdom, knowledge; and a sound understanding of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ: kindled by the fire of the Holy Ghost, least contrary spirits make merchandise of us. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus the live of a prophet must be a clean one. The work of a prophet is not for slackers and jokers, or people that are seeking vain glory. The prophet must make sure by experience and relationship with God; that he is called to do what he is doing; and that all revelations are in line with the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In fact every one that is appointed to a position of authority in the body of Christ; to any important position must have a testimony of their initial contact with God and spiritual confirmation, from God; and by other holy persons. Sometimes, we just see a fellow and we vote him into position of authority: that is acceptable for the world, not for the body of Jesus Christ. No voting in the church especially by a mixed company of saved and unsaved persons. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: There is only one thing that God requires of this nation, and it is this: that it should "REPENT." There are no new formulas, or procedures that supersedes; that which is written in the word of God. Therefore any one that introduces a new procedure that is unscriptural should be rebuked sharply. Again when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Ez.18: 27. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Ro. 10: 9 & 10 Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: Prophecy can be a complicated matter, since Satan is capable of taking the word and using it to draw attention to himself. So in that the message may be true; but the messenger, could also be sent by the devil. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: Remember that girl with the spirit of divination? (Act. Ch.16: 16.) The message was true, but the messenger was not. And it came to pass, as we went to pray, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation.
