CATEGORY:SPORTS(FOOTBALL) ----------------------------- INSIDE GRENADA TUESDAY October 2,2007 by Lester Smith Although the match started quite late, the boys from the “Big Parish” wasted no time in adding to the score sheet. A goal each from Kevin Baptiste, Akim Henry, Arnold Pierre, Carville Rennie, KendallMc Intosh and Quamie Isaac mounted a 6-0 victory over the St. David’s Catholic Secondary in the Junior Division. While in the Senior Division, Clive Murray scored twice for SAASS as they began their campaign to earn the most coveted prize in Secondary Schools Football. In other matches played in the second round of the tournament, in the Juniors Zone A, Happy Hill won comfortable over Boca 4-0 at Queens Park. Scoring for happy Hill were Ryan Sylvester, Garth Thomas, Joel Williams and Kimon Harris. Also in Zone A, a double from Zakim Simon of St. John’s Christian Secondary sealed a 2-1 victory for west coast boys over Wesley College. The other match featured St. Mark’s Secondary who won 4-0 against St. Rose Modern Secondary. In the Juniors Zone B, a goal from Alec Jones and a double from Travis Williams produced a good start for GBSS as they won convincingly over Westerhall Secondary. Mc Donald College also produced a win when they played against Grenville Secondary at the Victoria Park. Josh George scored twice for College and Chad Charles scored the only goal for Grenville Secondary as the match ended 2-1 in favor of MDC. In the Senior Division Zone A, National Midfielder Nickel Paul scored the only goal of the match as St. Mar’s Secondary edged past St. Rose Modern Secondary 1-0 to record their first win. Shevon Sampson, Junior Charles, Cody Mc Phail and Akemo Abraham scored a goal each as St. John’s Christian Secondary defeated Wesley College 4-0 at the Cuthbert Peters Park. The other match played in that Division was Happy Hill Secondary against Boca. Happy Hill won 3-0 and pushed them to two wins after two matches leading the standings in Zone A with six points. While Defending Champions Mc Donald College lead the standings in Zone B on a maximum of six points from two matches.
