GRENADA'S AMBASSADOR MEETS CHILEAN PRESIDENT

Santiago de Chile His Excellency Richard McPhail recently presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Chile, Michele Bachelet as Grenada’s nonresident Ambassador to Chile. The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Paula McPhail. The two were received very warmly by President Bachelet and the Minister for Foreign Relations, Alejandro Foxley Riosec, at El Palacio de la Moneda during which the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and good wishes on behalf of the Government and people of Grenada to the President and people of Chile. A highlight of the meeting was a private discussion on ways and means of enhancing cooperation between Grenada and Chile in education/human resource development, agriculture, trade & investment, tourism, culture and other fields. The two sides reiterated their strong commitment to strengthen, deepen and broaden bilateral relations between the two countries. The official ceremony culminated in the Ambassador and Mrs. McPhail being accorded full military honors. During his first official visit to Chile, Ambassador McPhail also took the opportunity to meet with several other key individuals in the areas of agriculture, tourism, investments, manufacturing, and housing as well as senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
