On Sunday, November 4, our family suffered the loss of our beloved son, cousin, nephew and uncle, Jaiden Pierre. Six-year-old Jaiden met his death tragically while on his way to meet his uncle at the Annandale Falls. Jaiden and his cousin used a “footpath” (shortcut) frequently used by residents of the area to get to the waterfalls. It was there Jaiden encountered difficulty in crossing the river after he slipped and fell into the water. Jaiden held on to a stone, but was quickly overcome by the rushing water after an attempt by his cousin to save him, failed. Jaiden was dragged toward the edge of the falls causing him to drop some 30 – 40ft to the pond below. Jaiden’s uncle, who at the time was not aware that the boys were on their way to meet him, heard the screams, investigated and encountered his son (Jaiden’s cousin) running toward him informing him that Jaiden had slipped and fell into the water. Jaiden’s Uncle dived into the water and discovered Jaiden’s lifeless body after his fourth dive. CPR was performed on young Jaiden by his uncle, but he was unable to save him. Autopsy reports indicated that Jaiden died from drowning. Jaiden was loved by everyone he came in contact with, he was an intelligent, bright and energetic child who will be greatly missed not only by us, but by all. Jaiden would have celebrated his 7th birthday on November 30, 2007. Jaiden’s funeral will be held at the World Outreach Assembly Pentecostal Church in New Hampshire on Monday, November 12 at 2pm.
