CATEGORY:SPORTS -------------------- INSIDE GRENADA NOVEMBER 14,2007 by Wallace J.A GRENADA: The St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) defeated the Mc Donald’s College (MDC) in the semi-finals of the Republic Bank Right Start Youth Football Tournament this afternoon (Wednesday November 14) at the Pearls playing field, St. Andrew’s. At the end of regulation time, the score was even, with the junior footballers of both teams finding the back of their opponent’s net once (1-1). The football match then progressed into a nail-biting penalty kick-out. The boys in blue (SAASS) - wearing their newly designed uniforms recently donated to them by the SAASS Alumni Association in New York – were able to out-perform their opponents, converting 3 of their penalty shots into goals while MDC only succeeded in converting 2 of their penalties into goals. By defeating MDC, the SAASS junior team has successfully booked their place in the finals of the tournament. The boys in blue have also made it through to the finals of the open knock-out version of the game after thrashing the Grenville secondary School (GSS) 4-nil.
