CATEGORY:POLITICS --------------------- INSIDE GRENADA NOVEMBER 22, 2007 (The following is a production of the ruling New National Party - NNP) Mr. Kennedy Roberts, resident and NNP’S Caretaker of St. George’s North East, is committed to returning his Constituency seat to the New National Party. He intends to do so by bringing a new sense of Community pride and involvement – with his special focus on Building Stronger Families - which will be the pillar for fruitful development and balanced progress in the St. George’s North East. If the packed room and hallway of the Beaulieu R.C School was an indicator of things to come, the New National Party surely has fielded a formidable caretaker in the constituency of St. George’s North East. The place was electric with Prime Minister Mitchell introducing a competent and confident Kennedy Roberts to an enthusiastic and supportive gathering. With the loving support of his wife, and proud parents seated alongside him on stage, and brother and sister seated among the well-wishing audience Kennedy delivered an inspiring address that brought hope to the people of the constituency. His presentation highlighted the importance of a united approach to building the constituency and he reached out to all those who wanted to contribute to the process of regaining the seat to the New National Party. He highlighted the need for families to expand their backyard gardens since St. George’s North East can be considered the food basket of St. George’s and the benefits to be derived from paying more attention on remaining healthy and productive. The Youth of St. George’s North East can look forward with great expectation to a representative who will work with them in building stronger families and stronger communities. Despite the primary focus being on the development of the people, Kennedy has recognized the importance of infrastructural development to the enhancement of the constituency. There are several road projects that need immediate attention which will be analyzed with the residents to determine the way forward. This will be started in his village of Mt. Parnassus where the roads throughout the Coconut are of particular concern and crying out for attention. Several projects are on-going on the Mt. Parnassus main road, the Stones in New Hampshire, Back Street in Tempe and the Belle Vue Road is now moving ahead full speed. St. George’s North East is poised for great representation where Kennedy will work with every village to get the best from its people. His background as a Public Health Economist who lectures in Public Health Management, Policy and Financing at St. George’s University, and who functioned as Chairman of the NIS from 2000 to 2003 will serve him well in making his contribution to the development of St. George’s North East and Grenada as a whole. We wish him greatest success.
