SENTENCE DELIVERED IN FREDERICK ‘BALLA’ NOEL’S CASE |

GRENADA: According to unconfirmed reports reaching the news desk of Grenadian Connection (GC), a sentence was delivered today in the case involving Frederick ‘Balla’ Noel.
Frederick ‘Balla’ Noel, a former body-guard of Grenada’s Prime Minister, was found guilty last week Tuesday (Nov. 13)of causing bodily harm to Sans Souci resident, Arthur Noel, about two years ago. Arthur Noel had sustained a gunshot wound to the lower left arm after a confrontation with Balla.He (Balla)was placed on remand at the Richmond Hill Prison pending sentencing, which was delivered today.
Before the sentence was delivered, character references were given by at least three persons: one from the local clergy, one from the Royal Grenada Police Force and the third, a top-ranking civil servant.
According to the sentence delivered in the case, Balla is expected to pay $5,000 within 60 days. Failure to so do will result in a period of imprisonment for two years.
Balla was represented by attorney-at-law, Francine Banfield.
