GRENADIAN HONEY PLACES A NATIONAL HONEY SHOW IN ENGLAND...
click
Grenadian beekeepers have, once again, taken prizes at the National Honey Show in England. Three of eight members of the Grenada Association of Beekeepers (GAB) who sent entries to the National Honey Show, which took place at the Royal Air Force Museum from October 18 to 20, won prizes. The entries, which were submitted under the auspices of the GAB, were coded before leaving Grenada. The winning entries were submitted in one of the Open Categories (Class 6: Clear Honey {gift}). First and third prize came from the apiary of Windel and Alice Sylvan of Conference, St. Andrew, while second prizes came from the apiary of Kyron Braveboy, also of Conference. The husband a wife team of Windel and Alice Sylvan was recently featured in the Grenada Agricultural Information Services (GAIS) bi-monthly newsletter, which is published in collaboration with the ARD, the Ministry of Agriculture and Republic Bank. Participation in the National Honey Show by the Association was facilitated by the Government of Grenada, Republic Bank, the Grenada Board of Tourism, Bryden and Minors Ltd. and British Airways. Grenadian honey had previously been recognised in the Open Category section of the National Honey Show in London in 2001 and 2002.
