LIAT CABIN CREW ON SICK-OUT
A sick-out by cabin crew at the regional airline, LIAT, grounded many flights Wednesday and severely impacted on regional travellers using the island-hopping carrier. The Management at the Antigua-based airline, confirmed that most of its cabin crew called in sick resulting in widespread dislocation. Many flights to LIAT's 21 Caribbean destinations were cancelled, with the remainder operating with significant delays. According to the airline's commercial office in Barbados, all efforts to contact the Flight Attendant Association were futile and no reason was given for the protest action. The industrial action comes on the heels of a warning issued by the intra regional carrier to Caribbean travelers, to expect some turbulence in regional air travel over the busy Christmas period, as a result of a shortage in aircraft. LIAT CABIN CREW ON SICK-OUT
As a frequent visitor to my country Grenada,i always ensure that i get a direct or charter flight. For many years,LIAT has provided poor service for travellers, and now it is even worse as they are the only regional airline with widespread service. To everyone that intend on travelling to the islands, try to get a direct flight to your destination or LIAT will ruin your trip.

This is terrible .. Yes we know that people need their money but making the whole lot of travelling persons pay for it is totally unfair .. I guess the staff are aware that people are travelling more at this time but when people are angry it creates other problems .. Liat staff please stop holing your passengers hostage and remember if people get fed up they'll find alternative ways and then you'll not only be getting little pay It will be NO PAY as there would be no JOB.. so please do not hold us Hostage at this time .. especially some of us coming back with our BRAINS FROZEN from the cold up North. Think about us we understand but not let us be the ones to suffer Peace and Goodwill
