300 TOYS FOR KIDS
Children and senior citizens in the Perdmontemps area will receive Christmas cheers in a toy distribution and Christmas tree lighting ceremony next to the Perdmontemps old school on Sunday, December, 23. The event will be the third of it kind organized by the Perdmontemps New Development Organization and Quality Refinishing, a United States based company owned by local native, Leslie McQueen. McQueen, who was press secretary to former Prime Minister Nicholas Brathwaite, said that more than 300 toys will be distributed to kids within the ages of 3-12 and a dozen senior citizens and disabled residents will receive Christmas baskets of food. He added that the event is a way of giving back to the community where he grew up and he is pleased to be in a position to bring joys to many who otherwise might not have been able to enjoy the true meaning of the season. The event will be attended by Parliamentary Representative for St. David’s, Mr. Dennis Lett, New National Party caretaker, Gabriel Henry as well as prominent community organizers. Starting time is 3:00pm and musical entertainment will be provided by the popular Caress Band, and DJ Thunder and Lightling. Lots of eats and drinks will be on sale.
