NATIONAL HERITAGE SITES DESIGNATED IN GRENADA  
The Grenada Government has documented a list of sites as National Heritage and Landmark monuments in Grenada and Cabinet has given approval that they be developed. Among them are Fort George, Fort Matthew, Fort Frederick and the Adolphus Complex, which includes the Home for the Aged and the Prisons and the Richmond Hill Tennis Court. Other sites that are documented for development include the Fort and underground Tunnel network at Old Fort, Portic Point and the Ruins at Point Salines, the Financial Complex on the Carenage, the National Museum compound, Knox House, the Market Square, the Louis La Grenada Mausoleum at Morne Jaloux, Carib’s Leap at Sauteurs, the White Lime Kiln, St. Patrick’s, the Piton at Levera, Telescope Point and the remains of Old Town Marquis. The Amerindian Stone in Mt Rich, Duquesne Petroglyph drawings, the Old Water Cistern at Paddock, La Sagesse Pond and Standing Stone, Pearl’s Airport and Amerindian site, Paradise Bridge, Dumfries and Sabazan the Amerindian site in Carriacou In recognition of this, Government is planning to promulgate the necessary legislation. Strict measures have been put in place to protect these monuments for Grenadians. Restrictions are in place so that these sites would not be sold or altered in any form.
