OECS LEADERS READY TO ADVANCE ECONOMIC INTEGRATION
Eastern Caribbean leaders say they are now ready to push ahead with proposals for greater economic integration. The heads of governments of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States have for years talked about an economic union to further expand services they already share in such areas as a common currency and a supreme court. OECS leaders signed a draft economic union treaty in 2006 to allow for the free movement of people, goods and services throughout the sub-region. The leaders say an economic union will enable them to better address global challenges and this year they will be seeking public support for the initiatives through a series of consultations in the sun-region. Antigua's Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer said the foundation had already been laid and that it was time to take the matter to the people. Reprinted from radioja.com

I hope it isn't all talk this time and that the leaders are committed towards making this economic integration a reality.
