INSIDE GRENADA JANUARY 19, 2008 from the National Democratic Congress VENEZUELA'S AMBASSADOR to Grenada, His Excellency Ali Diaz, paid a courtesy call on opposition leader Hon. Tillman Thomas at his office Thursday (January 17, 2008). During the familiarization visit both men discussed the strengthening of ties between Grenada and Venezuela. Mr. Diaz briefed the Hon. Thomas about his country's assistance in building scores of houses on the island. The two promised to meet regularly to discuss other issues of mutual interest to both countries. Mr. Diaz said that since both countries are so close geographically, more should be done together. Mr. Diaz is the newly appointed Venezuelan ambassador to St George's who recently presented his credentials to Governor General Sir Daniel Williams.
