INSIDE GRENADA JANUARY 23, 2008 The life of Anthony Prosper can be summed up in one word – service. And if two words were necessary, it would be ‘enjoyable service’ for he seemed to enjoy everything he did.A son of La Mode, St. Patrick, and also one of a politician father (J. I. M. Prosper), it is not surprising that he had a passion for politics and was associated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from its inception. His career as a teacher restricted his public participation but he was the driving force behind the involvement of youth in the party and the formation of the youth arm, the Democratic Youth Organisation. Anthony attended the Mc Donald College and TAMCC. After graduating, he taught at the Wesley College for a while and then went to UWI where be earned a Bachelor's and then a Master's degree in History. He taught at the Presentation Brother's College and in 2002, moved on to teach at TAMCC. Although his life was short, his impact was significant and will be remembered for many years. His love for his country and people will always be remembered. He wanted nothing but the best for the young people of Grenada and always encouraged them to work just a little bit harder. For the NDC and the Democratic Youth Organisation, we have lost a pillar of strength, a guiding light and an example of commitment. You are gone too soon and will not be here with us to see your dream come true but in your memory, we recommit to the cause and will soldier on to victory. May the angels lead you into Paradise. May the martyrs come to greet you on the way. May they lead you home to the holy city, to the new and eternal Jerusalem. May the choirs of angels come to welcome you. May they take you to the arms of Abraham, where Lazarus is poor no longer, and there may you find rest, rest eternal. Lux eterna luceat eis. Requiescat in pace. Amen. The above tribute is from the NDC
