NDC SUPPORTERS IN TORONTO & NY TO PROVIDE ELECTION HELP...
INSIDE GRENADA JANUARY 31, 2008 from the National democratic Congress (NDC) Members of NDC Toronto, who held their first general and executive committee meetings of 2008 last Saturday, agreed on a series of measures to support the National Democratic Congress in Grenada’s soon-to-be-held general elections. “Without being too specific, I’d say that our support will be very tangible,’’ said a spokesperson for NDC Toronto. “Grenadians in North America have been observing the wind of change blowing across the Caribbean and we believe the wind will shortly be blowing over Grenada and removing the current venal New National Party administration.’’ NDC Toronto, a support group of the main opposition National Democratic Congress led by Honourable Tillman Thomas, was established last September. In the past two months, the chairman, vice-chairman, secretary and public relations officer of NDC Toronto, as well as representatives from the New York Chapter of the NDC, has visited Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique to discuss the election preparedness of the Congress party. They also talked about the kind of assistance the party requires from NDC members and supporters overseas. NDC General Secretary Peter David, with whom they met, said “the Grenadian Diaspora is a key component of the party’s base.’’ David, the Member of Parliament for the Town of St. George, also said that the NDC will be “leaning heavily on Grenadians abroad to be part of the massive rebuilding of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique when the NDC forms the government.’’
