INSIDE GRENADA FEBRUARY 12, 2008 by Wallace J.A One of Grenada’s star female athletes, Trish Bartholomew, is continuing to show her brilliance on the track. Trish, who presently attends the University of Alabama, recently clocked her indoor personal best in the 400m. Bartholomew was able to convincingly win her event, running the 400m in a blistering NCAA provisional time of 53.87 seconds. She later led the Alabama female relay team to victory in the 4x400 with a time of 3:45.38. Trish was a student of the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) – one of the academic institutions in Grenada that has produced a number of outstanding athletes over the years. She not only dominated track and field events in her division while attending SAASS but went on to dominate national athletic championships on the island. The young female athlete has been the recipient of a sports scholarship and, like many other Grenadian athletes, has grabbed the opportunity presented to her with open arms. She is doing extremely well in both her academic and sporting pursuits. She is presently majoring in Psychology at the University of Alabama. Grenadian Connection wishes to congratulate Trish on her recent accomplishments and will like to unreservedly encourage her to continue striving for excellence in all her future pursuits.
