SON OF THE CARIBBEAN POISED TO BECOME NEXT NEW YORK GOV...
The son of two Caribbean nationals is poised to become the new governor of New York following Wednesday's resignation of the Governor Eliot Spitzer. The parents of Lieutenant Governor David A. Paterson were born in Grenada and Jamaica. His Grenadian born father is a former New York State senator. Mr. Paterson is scheduled to become New York's 55th governor on Monday. He will be the state's first black governor and will replace Mr. Spitzer who announced his resignation following revelations that he was involved in a prostitution ring. Mr. Paterson is said to be liked and respected by leading figures in both parties, but is also considered untested. Born in Brooklyn on May 20, 1954, an early childhood infection left him with severely limited sight. He is a graduate of Hofstra Law School, in New York, and is also a professor at Columbia University. Reprinted from radioja.com

It is a great day for minorities. My prayers are with David Patterson. A valuable lesson for many of us that we must be careful when given authority. Mr. Spitzer was a fine AG, however his behavior exemplified one of perfection who always walk a straight line. My prayers are also with him and his family. God puts up and he puts down. I believe it is all in the plan of Almighty God. Remember, to whom much is given, much is required. A lesson for us all. It is however a sense of pride to have a black governor for New York. Maybe we will see the same for President of the US.
