Flour producers from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda and Grenada will meet with regional trade ministers in Barbados today (Monday) to find solutions to the problems caused by rising wheat prices on the international market.
The meeting comes on the heels of increases in flour and bread prices across the region.
The cost of bread will be increased by 40 percent in Grenada today, while flour prices in Trinidad & Tobago are also expected to go up.
Grenada's Minister for Trade and Economic Development Anthony Boatswain said the meeting will be chaired by officials from the Caribbean Community.
At today's meeting, talks will surround how the price of baked goods can be more acceptable to the public.
