The Ministry of Finance wishes to inform the General Public that on the morning of Friday, March 28, 2008, it was discovered that the District Revenue Office (DRO) in Sauteurs, St. Patrick’s was broken into and the vault, containing monies for the payment of public assistance and necessitous children, stolen. The matter has since been reported to the Police who are currently conducting an investigation. The General Public is hereby advised that this will affect the service provided to those persons and that the Ministry is currently making alternative arrangements to facilitate these payments as soon as possible. The details of these arrangements will be announced very shortly. The Ministry wishes to assure the General Public that all security arrangements at all DROs are currently being reviewed so as to avoid similar occurrences. Source: Ministry of Finance
