SPY SCANDAL OFFICER SAYS HE WAS ASSAULTED
The Grenadian police officer at the centre of the so-called political spy scandal met the press on the island Wednesday. Some nine officials of the opposition National Democratic Congress are facing a civil lawsuit filed by the Office of the Attorney General on behalf of officer Kellon Noel. He was accused by the NDC of spying on an executive meeting of that opposition party. NDC officials admit having temporarily detained him when they discovered an individual recording their meeting, but deny assaulting him. Officer Noel accompanied by Trinidadian lawyer Ramesh Maraj, told reporters in St Georges that he had suffered bruises to the elbow. Reprinted from bbccaribbean.com
