The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has promised to investigate the source of pamphlets accusing two local journalists of working with the opposition after they filed a formal complaint on Thursday. Rawle Titus and Linda Straker, who are also executive members of the Media Workers Association of Grenada (MWAG), gave separate statements to the head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Supt. Anthony Joseph at his office in St George's. The reporters, who were not accompanied by lawyers, also provided a sequence of events of how they became aware of the flyers. The journalists' actions followed a protest letter from Reporters Without Borders to Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell. The International media watchdog called on the Grenadian leader, who is also the Information Minister, 'to ensure that further attempts to intimidate journalists are not made'. A media release from the president of MWAG Michael Bascombe stated that the political pamphlets showed pictures of the two journalists asking imaginary questions to a police officer who is accused of spying on an executive meeting of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
