COMMISSIONER JAMES COMPLIMENTS OFICERS OF THE RGPF
FORT GEORGE, St. George's : Commissioner of Police Mr. Winston James has complimented the Officers of the Western Division and other departments of the R.G.P.F. that provided support to the Division on Sunday 20th April ’08, during the youth rally organized by the New National Party. Despite the limited options and alternatives for parking and access, which resulted in unavoidable traffic delays, the Officers performed well and were able to maintain a peaceful environment during and after the function. There were no reports of any criminal activity as a result of or directly linked to the staging of the Event within the Division. Commissioner James also wishes to thank the residents of the parish, and motorists using the area but not attending the Event, for their cooperation, understanding and patience. Persons attending the Event must also be commended for their good behaviour and cooperation with the Police Officers, Mr. James said. Providing the required levels of security for such a large gathering, with limited access and parking facilities was a major challenge, but the R.G.P.F. is equipped to positively respond to such situations and as expected the Division delivered, the Commissioner concluded. The Western Division is headed by Superintendent Dunbar Belfon. From the Office of the Commissioner of Police Fort George St. George's
