PRIME MINISTER MITCHELL HAS LAUNCHES NATIONAL HEALTH AN...
GRENADA - Prime Minister Dr. The Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell has launched a National Health and fitness programme called Get Fit Grenada. The Programme was launched on Saturday April 26th at the Body and Soul Gym and is aimed at promoting Healthy Lifestyles by emphasizing exercise and healthy diets. Speaking at the launch on Saturday, Prime Minister Mitchell said, "I am very saddened when I see families lose fathers, mothers and other family members very early in life. Lifestyle as it relates to diet and exercise affects every aspect of the family. We have become too sedentary! Gone are the days when entire villages not only participated in sporting events but also walked from village to village to compete. Through this programme I want to see us eat better, exercise more and live better." Members of the Medical Association, St. George's University, Sporting Associations, private sector companies, and The Food and Nutrition Council attended Saturday's launch. Prime Minister Mitchell thanked them for attending and for partnering with Government in this important initiative. Also pledging their support for the initiative is the Pan American Health organization and the Caricom Secretariat. A key aspect of the ceremony was the launch of www.getfitgrenada.com. The website offers advice on health and wellness to the Grenadian community and will have an interactive forum where persons can ask advice about their health and fitness regime. The Get Fit Grenada initiative is aimed at improving the quality of lives of the Grenadian public by improving the health of the population. The programme is specifically geared towards lowering the incidence of chronic diseases affecting the Grenadian community.

PRIME MINISTER MITCHELL HAS LAUNCHES NATIONAL HEALTH AN...
I am very happy that such a programme has been launched.I visited Grenada recently and observed that people are now eating too much fast food-junk food as it is called in England.I do hope grenadians take note before it,s too late.Teachers from primary right up to higher education including home economic teachers do have a huge part to play in stressing the importance of a healthy meal and what nutrients can be found in the numerous fresh fruits ,vegetables and fishes that grenada is blessed with.

you can tell in any country and in any language when there is going to be a general election, government suddenly find the time to get /promote /offer all sorts of things to its people and you would think that they are trying to buy votes dare i say so please ,please what was happening all the other days ,weeks, months in the years, dear mr PM grenadians are dying not from lack of food/proper diet but from a government that placed foreign investors and their money before the good health of the grenadian people, fathers, mothers, and their children is dyiny from a basic lack of morals, there is in grenada and some of the other countries you quoted, a complete disreguard of its people, there is an old saying that a healthy people gives you a healthy country and a healthy government.Mr PM you and your government have been in power for some eight years now has it just only occured to you about the health of your people,i do not think so,or is there going to be an election soon.
