GRENADA, April 29, 2008 Clyde Haywood Killing James Phillip, 81 year old resident of Mt Parnasuss in St. George was arrested and charged for causing the death of Clyde Haywood of the same address. Phillip appeared before the St. George’s Magistrate Court on Tuesday 29th April ’08, to answer to the manslaughter charge laid against him. Haywood age 77, died as a result of a stab wound to the lower abdomen. Police investigators concluded that the incident occurred during an altercation the night before between the deceased and Phillip. Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department were called to the scene during the early hours of Saturday 26th April ’08, where Haywood’s body was discovered. Update: Phillip was granted bail (EC $15,000 plus two sureties) and his next court appearance is schedule for Monday June 9th ’08. St. John’s Accident Eight persons were hospitalized, as a result of an accident involving a public transport, registration number HV 521. The accident occurred around 6.00 o’clock this morning, Tuesday 29th April ’08 along Upper Depradine Street in Gouyave, St. John’s. The vehicle was traveling in a southern direction towards the town of St. George. The driver of the vehicle was Lambert Braithwaite and he was among the persons hospitalized.
