MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE RGPF ON WEEKEND INCIDENTS  
ST. GEORGE'S, Grenada, May 05, 2008 - Weekend incident Friday May 2nd – Sunday May 4th “08 Members of the Criminal Investigation Department are continuing investigations into a number of incidents that occurred over the past weekend. ***** Fish Market Killing update Brandon Casimir, 26 year old of Boca in St. George’s is expected to be charged later today for the death of Akim Cox of Darbeau St. George’s. Cox, aged 21 was stabbed on Friday night, May 2nd ’08, at around 11.00, in the vicinity of the fish market on Melville Street in St. George’s. Cox was taken to the hospital where he later died. A post mortem was conducted earlier today, and it was determined that the cause of death was a single stab wound to the chest that punctured the heart. Casimir is expected to make his first court appearance before the St. George’s Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 6th May 2008. ***** Grand Anse chopping Kimani Mitchell aged 27 of Grand Anse in St. George’s was hospitalized during the early hours of Saturday morning as a result of chop wounds he received to the body. The incident occurred in the area commonly referred to as Wall Street in Grand Anse. Mitchell later left the hospital against the advice of the medical personnel attending to him, and is presently not cooperating with the Police investigators. He indicated that it is not his intention to have any charges laid against anyone, but the members of the South St. George’s C.I.D are continuing their investigation. ***** St. Andrew’s chopping. Members of the Eastern Division of the RGPF are continuing their investigations into a chopping incident early Sunday Morning in which Emron Peter of Tivoli in St. Andrews received a chop wound to the hard that severed his wrist. The incident occurred in a public event in the Tivoli area. Peter aged 25 was rushed to the Princess Alice Hospital and later transferred to the General Hospital in St. George’s where he remains in a stable condition. St. Andrew’s Police are seeking the whereabouts of Zowarde Pancho, as a person of interest, to assist with the investigations. In a related matter Kerry Emery of Tivoli was arrested and charged with two counts of summary wounding and being in possession of an offensive weapon. ***** Beausejour Chopping One person has been hospitalized, and another is in Police custody after a chopping incident in Beausejour in St. George’s. The incident occurred on Sunday night in the vicinity of the Village Entertainment Complex. Both persons received chop wounds to the body. Allan Ross of Brizan in St. George’s remains in hospital, and Kim Phillip has been detained by Police and is assisting with the investigation. I think the devil is very busy at these days. People allow the devil to use them to do these crimes a few years ago Grenada was defined as my paradise I am not so sure now. I fear for my young family and relatives. Some of the crimes though are inspired by movies (they are only movies) they are not real and also by gangs and young men that were deported from the US, Canada and Europe they come home and put these "bad boy mentality into our aspiring young adults not saying that they don't get into trouble too but not as badly as that. The RGPF and the government has to come up with more harsh punishment they are a little bit to linient with them can't they be inspired by something else like education, sports, community development and things of that nature when you get off by cuting another human to pieces of chopping their limbs off them we know its demons walking the earth.....

what the hell is going on in grenada,why are we suddenly having all these killing and stabbing where is all this coming from and what is the government and the law enforcers doing to combat this trend in all this violent acts please please mr mitchell it is now time for you and your government to lead from the front and give our people the security and stability that will make them safe to go in and out of their homes,to be able to walk the street without fear of being killed or mained,please please protect our people.thank you
