WILL THERE BE A PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE? - PT. 2
GRENADA, MAY 11, 2008 - Fellow Grenadian, visitors, brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. 2 Co.1: 2 & 3. w Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: Some people are having great difficulties in explaining why they have ignored, so much scriptures, on any given subject in the bible; and yet came up with something they call sound doctrine, this is truly amazing. I have no problem with the harmonization of scriptures; especially on the rapture issue. And I believe it is because of my honesty, in rightly dividing the word of truth. I do not read the bible to formulate my own ideas: I read the bible to find the mind of God, and to rest in the mind of God. The apostle Paul understood the dangers of vain expectations, and that was one of his reasons for addressing this matter in 2 Th.2: 1 – 4. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: The time of the rapture of the church is very serious business; because it appears that the time will come when some believers who were taught incorrectly, and thereby were expecting certain things to happen at a particular time, which did not come to pass, will one day openly vent their frustration concerning, the truth of the gospel. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.2 Pe. 3: 3 & 4. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: You may recollect in my last article that I made mention "That there are two important pre-supposition however that are essential to the pre-tribulation position." (1) The definition of the church as a separate body of saints distinct from saints of other ages. (2) The doctrine of a future tribulation of unprecedented severity, so bad that it will be almost impossible for the saints to go through that period. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: Those two assumptions are not only wrong, but they are ridiculous, and it is a wicked attempt by satan to distort the truth of the gospel and divide the church. Let us take the first pre-supposition: which says that the present day church is distinct from the saints of other ages, and that is to say that our Lord's life, death, and resurrection had no impact on the souls of the saints of other ages. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: Jesus said unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again at the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this? Jh. 11: 23, 24, 25, & 26. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: I hope that you would have noted, that Martha needed no prompting as to what day the resurrection would take place; because, that is what they were taught. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: for time and space sake: I will like you to read the following scriptures immediately. (Ps. 50: 2,3, 4, & 5. NB the time that the saints are taken away.)Isaiah 61: 1 – 11. Mt. 27: 51, 52, & 53. Lu.4: 18 & 19. Ga.3: 28 & 29.and Col. 3:11. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: The most famous portion of scripture quoted by the pre-tribulationist, to show that the church is promised deliverance from the time of the great tribulation is taken out of context. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Th. 5: 9. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: we have walked in ignorance for a long time. We have believed man more, than the authentic word of God. This scripture; if it is taken in the context in which it is implied, would then mean, that God will have to apologize to all the saints; (including his Son) that were martyred or ill-treated: because it would mean that protection promised, failed to materialize. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Da. 11:32 & 33. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
