A Commission of Inquiry has cleared Grenadian Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell of charges that he accepted a bribe to give diplomatic posting to German businessman Eric Resteiner.
The report was handed over to the Governor-General last week, almost a year after it was completed.
Dr Mitchell told supporters at a political rally that the probe found no evidence to support allegations that he had received the improper payment.
The Prime Minister explained why he was not called as a witness before the commission.
"If you look on page 44 of that report, the most telling statement made in that report, is that there is no shred of evidence against the Prime Minister of this country. It went on further to say because there was no shred of evidence they could not call the Prime Minister before the Commission," said Dr. Mitchell

I am outraged that so called PM Mitchell thinks that Grenadians are stupid. " It was my money and i wish it was more." This kind of stupid comment by our Prime Minister that engages with a criminal,that is serving time.Mr mitchell you are a disgrace to Grenadians. When your time comes you will be prosecuted.Please say when election will be held so i can book my flight from NY. Icannont wait to see you out.

i would like to inform keith that there are intelligent grens still alive,who in their right mind expected the results to be different,of course there was no evidence because the persons with the evidence didnot testify in the said enquiry ,vindicated by whom wildman,who always lead him astray,this same keith who has ask immunity,everytime that man opens his mouth he sounds dumber than before,his explanation about the money is so pitiful ,why would a prime minister use his personal money for govt business,are we to believe such nonsense, whats unfortunate is that there are people who acually believe in him what a guy ,he ,himself is beginning to believe the bs.jen

well well tell me what did the people of grenada expect that their prime minister would be found wanting by the the people who carry out the inquiries not on you life there are still questions to be asked what was in the briefcase and who put it there and whythere is an old saying that the law has to be seen to be equal to every man woman and child when it comes to the truth no matter how high one is in a position the law is the law.
