JUNIOR CALYPSO WORKSHOPS BEAR FRUIT |
|
|
The first calypso by a junior calypsonian who attended the Grenada Co-operative Bank Junior Calypso Workshops is being released.
The timely song, entitled Too Much Crime, was written and is performed by 13-year-old Grand Roy, St. John resident Andrel Ross. Andrel attended the workshops that were held for Juniors at the St. John R.C school. An attentive listener and very quick learner, young Andrel has certainly capitalized on the expertise offered at the workshops to create his very first calypso.
The song was arranged by Paul Thomas of Mt. Zion Studios and produced by Dexter Mitchell as part of the Grenada Co-operative Bank Junior Calypso Workshops.
The efforts of the St. John Social and Cultural Organization and Mr. Benny Langaigne must be acknowledged and recognized. Langaigne and his organization ably assisted in the facilitation of the workshops along with Mr. Colin Dowe, Mr. Alan Robinson and Mr. Neil Ferguson.
