GOVERNMENT OF GRENADA WANTS AUTHORITY TO PAY SOME DEPOS...
GRENADA – The Prime Minister of Grenada, Dr. Keith Mitchell, who also holds the portfolio of Finance Minister, informed a crowd of party supporters last Sunday that his government intends to apply to the court for the authority to pay some of the poor people who have deposits at Capital Bank International Ltd. It is believed that there are in excess of five thousand depositors in Capital Bank. Approximately three thousand seven hundred of these persons have deposits of EC $500 or less in their accounts. If the authority is granted by the court, depositors with five hundred dollars or less in their accounts will be the ones benefiting from the payments. Dr. Mitchell believes that it is the responsibility of his government to help out the poor, small depositors who would have placed their hard earned money in a financial institution and when it was time for them to make a withdrawal, they couldn’t get a cent. He is of the opinion that applying to the court for permission to pay these small depositors is one of the steps that can be taken to try and solve the problems that exist at Capital Bank International Ltd.

Why are we so easily taken for a ride?I guess we trusted Eric Gairy,Maurice Bishop, Keith Mitchell and anyone that promises betterment for the poor. Now our tax money has to pay the poor for the injustice of the rich.Where is the money he steals? I guess in some off show bank.He should be shot in the market.
