NDC READY FOR GENERAL ELECTIONS
GRENADA - There is finally light at the end of the tunnel, and this long dark night of mismanagement and corruption is set to end on July 8th, 2008. Grenadians have been praying long and hard for change, and the National Democratic Congress believes that their prayers are about to be answered. We were not surprised with the announcement of the date yesterday for general elections by Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell. With the economy getting worse, with people's yearning for change increasing and with the finger-pointing already started in his party, Dr Mitchell found himself cornered and with no where to run. It was noticeable that an emotional Mitchell had resigned himself to defeat in making the announcement in Gouyave last night. NDC Leader Hon Tillman Thomas says the Party is ready, and in full gear to lead the final push for victory. All systems are in place to ensure that the party succeeds at the polls, and over the next few weeks the party will be intensifying its campaign in order to secure a convincing victory on Election Day. All public opinion polls we have done have shown that we are heading to the convincing victory that the people deserve. However we must caution that general elections are won on the day of voting, and the vigilance in protecting the sanctity of that vote in the lead up to elections day. NDC is reminding all its supporters that today Monday June 02, 2008 is the last day to get registered to ensure that their names will be on the list. Persons are also reminded to check the list for their names. We have a nation to rescue and to build together. But that process starts with all of us getting ready to vote on July 8th.
