GRENADA: - Residents of the Tempe community in St. George’s, as well as people throughout the Spice Isle, were in shock yesterday afternoon following the brutal slaying of Mary Lawrence, a female resident of Tempe.
Ms. Lawrence, the latest murder victim in the country, is believed to be in her late thirties. The hapless victim purportedly sustained multiple chop wounds to various parts of her torso, including the hand and neck. The vicious chop wounds were allegedly inflicted by her common law husband, Davidson Paul, also known as “Hands.”
It is believed that the chop wounds were inflicted on the victim after a heated domestic altercation between the two adults.
Mary’s violent death has left her seven children, family members and friends in deep grief, emotional pain and bereavement.
The Ministry of Social Services has quickly condemned the brutal murder and has made a plea for people in the country to learn to settle disputes without resorting to violence. In addition, a call was issues for all victim of domestic violence to come forward and make reports to the relevant authorities. The Minister for Social Services, Hon. Glenis Roberts, pointed out that as a result of the killing the children in that family are now deprived of the two adults in the home.
Observer and the person talking about one parent everyone in the world is one parent we born alone and if God forbid your partner dies of a heart attack how will you cope. thank god you have someone still but your happiness lies in your own hands as a single or not single parent because what you see is not what it usually is indoors as the death statistics is telling you dont be fooled by the happy go lucky famalies you see on the outside because speaking from experience "you never knows what goes on behind closed doors" I will leave you with that. Read the new testament it will help. A lot of people thought two parents was better now some of them "is dead murdered by one of the parents" so dont forget open your eyes and see or look how miserable some wives has become or looks. at least give a woman the right to choose she know whats she wants as an individual person or please be Quiet on thes matters and Observer if things going good with you keep your fingers crossed ok. I value your opinion though but we are all entitiled to our opinion and beliefs here though but I dont believe in yours wholly and soley.

Dirty I agree with you why is there so much bad people in our country all of a sudden all kinda things happening i don't blame you for being worried about family a lot of people are very worried its sad that we can for ourselves a lovely place catching up with the rest of the crime ridden world for a competition in crime.The people seem to be in a state of confusion and denial about this crimes they dont wan to believe it and looks like the weak is feeling it and perishing while the ones responsible for creating this unhealthy state of mind is living a life of luxury. I also agrees with the ones who said if you feel to kill someone how about taking a swim in the sea and i will add how about killing your bad self instead of mudering someone. All these murders are really a bunch of litlle cowards thinking they big who does it and when the time come they running and hide they dont normally give themselves up if they so brave they should confess to the crimes they do and gve themselves up at the same time!

I agree with the person who wrote about the one parent home.Why are we scared to talk about young kids having kids without the father or mother in thier life?Where is personal responsibility? We cannot continue to live a primitive life,we must step up and take charge.When parents are there to grow up thier kids ,we will see less unnecessary violence.

as much as i agrees with some of your comments re the domestic issues and the recent incident re the commom assult which resulted in the death of this young woman i now say that the time has now come for the people of our spice isles to stop using the cutlass as a way of murdering one another and use it for what it was invented for --to work the land that thing that grows anything that you plant on it and stop using the knife and the cutlass to destroy one another ,for to many years we spend our time cursing (using bad language) in front of our old and young people, i can still remember growing up as a young man and the if i were to be seen or heard to utter a bad word my ass would be on fire with licks,now today thats history, kids no longer have any respest for their elders or teachers, also it it now time that the law makers makes it an offence for anyone carrying a knife or cutlass without a certificate to make it unlawful and an indictable offence /prison because it is now time to rid our selves of this barbaric thinking of chopping people up and as for the person who made a comment about one parent family my dear sir or madam it is what is planted in the soil that comes from the soil so please do not wholly blame one parent family because i am the product of a one parent family and all my three childern are educated as was pass down to me by my one parent family my mum god rest her soul,so come on my brothers and sisters and lets get the cutlass and the knifes off our street and use them for what they were meant for, and not kill or destroy our fellow human beings.

i think the government of grenada must put a law in action that physical abuse of any kind should be punish we cannot have the men and women yes i say women of our country beat up and kill each other and nothing happens or have a place where the abuse can go and ask for help and be protected along with they children, what happens a mother gets chopped up by her husband or boyfriend who suffers the children something needs to be done now not tomorrow thank you.
