MINISTER OF NATIONAL SECURITY MEETS POLICE HIGH COMMAND...
Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Hon. Tillman Thomas reiterated his government’s commitment to the rule of law and the independence of Grenada’s institutions at a meeting on Friday to present new Commissioner of Police James Clarkson to the senior members of the Royal Grenada Police Force. “My government will ensure the independence of the Police Force, we must allow you to do your jobs without fear or favour. No one is above the law and anyone who breaks the law should be dealt with accordingly,” The National Security Minister said. He said the fight against crime must be a priority of the force reminding the hierarchy of the RGPF that economic development can be stifled because of crime. “If we get crime in the Caribbean under control then there can be a turn around in the growth and development of our countries,” he said. The Prime Minister on Thursday congratulated retired Commissioner Winston James for his service to the RGPF and Grenada. He said the fact that Mr. James gave close to 41 years service to the Force, retiring at the highest rank, show that hard work pays off. “I congratulate former Commissioner James on his retirement and wish him well,” the Prime Minister said.. Former Commissioner Winston James officially retired on Thursday at the end of a long and illustrious career in the Royal Grenada Police Force.
