CARRIACOU AND PETITE MARTINIQUE RECEIVE SUPPLIES UNDER ...
Phase one of the Ministry of Education’s school books distribution programme officially commenced on Friday August 1 when the first shipment of school books were sent to the sister isles Carriacou and Petite Martinique. This is the first step toward the Government of Grenada’s initiative to provide all students (Pre- Primary, Primary and Secondary) with their required textbooks. From September 1, 2008 all students of pre-primary and primary schools would have received all their books. However, due to time limitations the programme will not be fully implemented at the Secondary school level. Secondary School students will receive the four core textbooks which include Mathematics, English Language, General Science and Information and Communication Technology. Students of all schools throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique will receive all textbooks under the Government’s Text Book Distribution Programme from September 2009 Principals of all schools will be responsible for the administration of the programme. Students will be advised of the dates in which they can collect their books at the respective schools and should be accompanied by their parents.
