PRIME MINISTER THOMAS LEADS DELEGATION TO TRINIDAD AND ...

ST. GEORGE’S:- Grenada’s Prime Minister, Hon. Tillman Thomas, is expected to lead a delegation comprising Hon. Peter David (Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism), Hon. Nazim Burke (Minister of Finance and Energy)and other government officials to the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago today (August 13,2008). This is the first official visit that Hon. Tillman Thomas is making to Trinidad since assuming the office of prime Minister following the July 08 General Elections in Grenada. This official visit is as a result of an invitation extended to the Grenadian Prime Minister by Hon. Patrick Manning, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago. Prime Minister Thomas is expected to discuss matters of importance to the two states with his Trinidadian counterpart which includes a framework for concluding an agreement on the delimitation of Grenada’s Maritime Boundaries, which will set the stage for Grenada’s exploration and exploitation of its oil and gas reserves. Hon. Tillman Thomas is also expected to address a dinner hosted by the Acting President of Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Danny Montano. This dinner will be also be attended by Prime Minister Manning and other sector leaders in the twin island republic. Before returning to Grenada on August 14, 2008, the delegation is expected to meet with business representatives in Trinidad.
